This is the first cardigan-style sweater I’ve ever owned. And my second wool-garment from Legio Gloria. And I am pleasantly surprised with it! I love the roughness of it – wool, dark grey, a beefy collar, aesthetic buttons. Yet there’s also an elegance and a familiarity I’m not used to. I consider it an excellent choice for semi-formal events. As such, it has become my most used winter-garment at the office and winter festivities.
I have it in L (since my shoulder width is usually somewhat comparable to Marcus at 95kg) but should probably have gone with an M for this one. It’s a bit big around the waist.

Winter has come. And now I am prepared!
Having already owned a cardigan I knew I was in for a treat. What I owned was a cotton garment with a weird fit, made in a sweatshop – not comparable to Legio Gloria.
This cardigan looks great with nearly anything under it. I like pairing it with a plain white T-shirt, any polo or dress-shirt. The V-shape of the collar makes for a distinctly masculine look. There is also an air of class and style to the cardigan. Legio Gloria’s version has some details that add even more to it: the nice wooden buttons and the pockets (which seem like the perfect place to keep a ring of power) to name but a few examples.
The pictures of Marcus in the snow make it look rather blue, this is inaccurate. It is a dark grey as shown on the other pictures.
The fit is comparable to other Legio Gloria garments. At 174cm tall and 78kg I take size Small. It is snug in the arms which both looks and feels nice! The cardigan is a bit longer than I would’ve expected. The size-chart says it is a fair bit shorter than the T-shirts, I did not find this to be the case.
Unfortunately there are some downsides. The first thing I noticed was that it was not as thick as I expected. It also seems a bit fragile, especially around the button-holes which could have been reinforced more. I take care not to wear this when my niece and nephews are around haha! I would have also liked to see a more structured collar. It is rather flabby and awkward, it is not clear where it is supposed to fold. But due to the low price (for a woolen garment made in Europe) I have still given it 5 stars.

This is the first cardigan I have ever worn and also my first woollen garment from Legio Gloria. It is by far the most elegant, aesthetic, comfortable and versatile garment that I own at the moment and I’m incredibly thankful for it!
The superb quality of the material and craftmanship, the beefy yet elegant collar, the beautiful buttons and the outer pockets which are perfect to use as such or to strike a classy pose while admiring the garment in the mirror (which I’ve done more than I would like to admit) are all aspects that make this cardigan such an extraordinary garment.
Another thing that I like so much about this cardigan is how well it fits with practically any other Legio Gloria-garments and can be used for any occasion:
A cozy evening at home with tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt? Go right ahead!
A “fika” with a dear friend at a café with jeans and a polo shirt? Perfect!
A more formal event with a dress shirt and pants? Highly aesthetic!
A personal favourite combination of mine is the Blazing Sun Linen Shirt along with this fine cardigan. I will make sure to put in an effort to wear this more often and give my trusty hoodie some more days off during the week. I have thus far only worn it indoors and haven’t felt too warm while wearing it, it has been very comfortable. If I should wear it outdoors without a jacket over it, I think a sweater underneath to keep the warmth would be a good idea.
As for criticism, I agree with Gerben’s review above concering the collar and buttons. The collar is a bit flabby which require a little extra effort to put it and keep it in place and I make sure to be extra careful every time I button and unbutton the cardigan. However, considering the entirety of this magnificent garment, these things doesn’t bother me much but I thought it was worth mentioning nevertheless.
I’m 180 cm and weigh approximately 70 kg, and size Medium is perfect for me. The fit is great and I don’t fear that I will outgrow it any time soon as I gain more muscle.
This truly is a fantastic cardigan and I’m so grateful for owning one. This was a Christmas present that I’ll never forget. Thank you!

First cardigan I have ever had and its amazing. Bought the Large size at 6’3″ fits perfect in the upper body, snug in the arms and shoulders, a little loose in the waist but not too bad. Very beefy and masculine looking especially with another sweater on underneath it. If you think a cardigan isn’t for you, you may reconsider it. I’m glad I opened myself up to a change in style with this and wool sweaters, they were a huge upgrade for me.
